President Obama likes Jay-Z, so we give him Jay-Z...
Kongrats to the 44th President of the US!!! we are all super proud of you. we wish the best for you and your beautiful family. the feelings of happiness and joy are almost overwhelming, but hopefully this is what we need to get this world turned around and eradicate racism.
jeezy's song is inspirational enough, but shawn carter somehow took this track to a whole new level.
go get 'em Jay...

MLK, Jr. ---> President Barack Obama
i can't speak for everyone, but i have never realized that in election years, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s holiday falls on the monday before inaugurations. to take this one step further, i have never thought that if we ever had a black president, we would be celebrating the MLK holiday prior to the black president being inaugurated. this is the situation we are in, and these two days will walk side by side in the hearts and minds of americans forever!
celebrating one of the most instrumental men in gaining civil rights for afircan americans in america that allowed us to celebrate the swearing in of a black man as president of the united sates. i only wish i was in d.c. right now to feel the energy radiat throughout an entire city as it has since this past friday. i will be tuning in all afternoon tomorrow and watch the inauguration from start to finish.

i know i am late but...happy new year
i am back in the uk after an awesome visit back home for the holidays. it's impossible to put into words how good it felt to be home---free of stress and all anxiety. it was much needed and very relaxing. the weather was amazing too. 70s in december....gotta love it. the only down side was the 2 weeks of not working out like i should have and eating any and everything in sight.
now that i am back at school, i am struggling to refocus and really buckle down in order to complete my phd in the next 8-12 months. it's very doable, but it will not be easy.
it's imperative that i find some happiness here at school in order to keep the positive energy and dedication needed to put in the intense amount of work and focus. at present, i am really missing my friends, and i have come to realize that as much as i thought i was coping with feeling so lonely pretty well, i was merely overlooking that i was slightly depressed. i have to take care of this before i can do anything else. and the key is finding happiness (either work, peace and quiet, meditation time, etc.).
