MLK, Jr. ---> President Barack Obama
i can't speak for everyone, but i have never realized that in election years, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s holiday falls on the monday before inaugurations. to take this one step further, i have never thought that if we ever had a black president, we would be celebrating the MLK holiday prior to the black president being inaugurated. this is the situation we are in, and these two days will walk side by side in the hearts and minds of americans forever!
celebrating one of the most instrumental men in gaining civil rights for afircan americans in america that allowed us to celebrate the swearing in of a black man as president of the united sates. i only wish i was in d.c. right now to feel the energy radiat throughout an entire city as it has since this past friday. i will be tuning in all afternoon tomorrow and watch the inauguration from start to finish.
